Dr. Alan Harvey

Dr. Alan Harvey is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency training program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in the suburbs of Chicago. After his residency, he spent 7 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Subsequently, he moved back to Chicago and opened a full scope private practice while also joining the University of Chicago Medical Center as the Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Trauma since the level one trauma center opened in 2018.

Dr. Harvey is a Clinical Associate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Chicago and NorthShore University Health Systems. He teaches plastic surgery, ENT and dental residents. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons. He is also a faculty member at AO Craniomaxillofacial (AO CMF) North America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating facial trauma to reconstructive surgeons across multiple specialties.

Dr. Harvey is very passionate about orthognathic surgery and has been on the cutting edge of virtual surgical planning for orthognathic surgeries and total joint replacements of the temporomandibular joint (also known as corrective jaw surgeries). These surgeries require a high level of skill, knowledge, and experience, and he is dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes to his patients.
